I weighed in this morning and I am happy to report a loss of 3.8 lbs for my first week back on plan.
Starting Weight (Jan 2009): 201lbs
This week: -3.8lbs
Total lost: 10.6lbs
I am delighted by this loss for the week but please forgive me for what I am about to say next… When I see total weight loss at 10.6lbs it still makes me feel sad and ashamed that I was at 20lbs lost just a few months ago. It is hard to see how far I have come when all I see is how far I have regressed. I just hate that I have undid so much hard work. I know I know, I need to put it behind me. I promise that is the last time I will mention it and that is the last time I will 10lbs until I am pregnant!
Anyways, without doubt a successful week on plan. Today there will a more indulgent meal. But not a whole day of eating poorly…just one meal thats a treat. I always use a treat meal on Weigh In Day, it keeps my cravings down during the rest of the week.
For the upcoming week my goals are:
- Get 10,000 steps per day, even though I am travelling from Tomorrow through Saturday
- Bring healthy snacks for the road trip
- Track and stay within points every day.
I think these are realistic and attainable goals for the week. Wish me luck!

i know what you mean about the regret, but your back at it before the holidays so thats something to be proud of!
great job at such a loss!
We all have woulda, coulda, shoulda moments. The key is just to control what you can control and do the best you can going forward. There’s nothing you can do about squandered opportunities, but there’s plenty you can do about your own future.
I used to have that “treat myself” mentality after weigh-ins, but I came to realize that it was simply putting me a step away from my goals and lengthening the time it would take to get there. I found other ways to reward myself for my good weigh-ins besides food, which was a huge breakthrough for me.
Take care and happy holidays!
I’m with Jack. Reward yourself for your weigh ins for sure but don’t use food to do it. Take a nice long bath with smellies in it, or buy a new book to read, or what I like to do is window shop for really cute clothes. I’m not ready to try them on or buy any yet but seeing all the cute things out there that I would love to try on and buy, gets me even more motivated and excited for WHEN I get to try them on and buy them for real. Just do whatever makes you happy as a reward. Not only does it work wonderfully for making you even more happy but you’ll also be reprogramming yourself to not use food anymore but rather appreciate it for the nourishment that it is and leave it at that. Congrats on the nice loss! Keep up all the good work. You’ll get there.
You are doing wonderful, don’t worry that you’ve gained some weight back focus on the positive: that you lost 3.8 pounds this week! That is absolutely amazing. You are doing wonderful and getting back into the swing of things perfectly. I’m excited to follow your new journey
congrats on the huge loss!! today in my ww meeting we talked about how a lot of people join ww and gain and lose weight multiple times before they keep it off for good. the important thing is that you are back with and doing awesome! plus you didn’t gain it all back you still lost 10 pounds which is amazing!
At least you are recommitting now. That is a great loss. I also have recommitted myself to eating more healthy and putting fitness back into my routine. Have safe travels
You are still growing strong and that is awesome. I had lost 30 and gained 15 back, but I’m keeping my head up and looking towards tomorrow. Your still doing great!!
Rebecca, I really feel like I can identify with your blog. I’ve done weight watchers on and off since college and have lost up to 25 lbs at one point. After putting the 25 + back on, I really need to get jump started into not doing it alone anymore…its not working. I’m excited to read your blog. Best of luck!!
I just did some catching up on your blog – you’re doing great! You’re staying active and that’s what counts the most! I’m working really hard on figuring out how to LIVE – not so much diet. Did you see The Biggest Loser special that was on on Wed. night? One of the winners has gained back all his weight. Bob told him he knows how to lose, he knows how to gain, now he has to figure out how to live. That is so me. It may not come off quickly, but it will come off the right way! Cheers to a great week for you!
This book is interesting and gives scientific explanations about burning fat. I started eating this way in November and by February I had lost 20 pounds. I was in a size 12 and now I am in a size 6 or 8 depending on where I buy my clothes. I could tell I was burning fat and even though I should have been exercising, I was not and lost the belly fat anyway. The hardest part was remembering how to combine the foods and of course making a new grocery list. I just kept note cards on the fridge to help with the process. Also my digestive problems have mostly disappeared. I actually started out with the book “Get Skinny on Fabulous Food”, but had to get this one to find out more about the science so I ordered “Eat Great, Lose Weight”. I will say that I love honey in my coffee and that is the only thing I didn’t change and I still lost the weight.
I will stick a link to this blog on my website. I am sure my readers will find this article very informative.
