Frustration!

My mother: “Hey, what dress are you wearing to your going away party on Friday night?”

Me: “The pink and black one.”

My mother: “Oh I haven’t seen it on you, will you try it on for me?”

Me: “Sure”

Fast forward 5 minutes and I am downstairs eating ice-cream and pouring myself a glass of wine in depression! It doesn’t fit! I only bought this dress a matter of weeks ago and it fit perfectly then. Now its way too tight around my chest and waist and just downright uncomfortable. Not to mention it is the only dress I did not ship to the US with all my stuff last Friday! So now I am stuck with one dress that doesn’t fit and I am eating again!

Being out of my healthy eating routine has grown very old. I know I have plenty of opportunities everyday to make a better choice, but with everything that is going on it really is the last thing on my mind. I don’t know where I am going to be living this day next week so its hard to stay balanced and motivated when so many things are up in the air!

I know it is only a matter of days (maybe 10 or 2 weeks) until I will be in my new place in CA and I will have a fresh start. But boy am I racking up some pounds on my way there. I am consciously making things harder for myself but I can’t stop. Does this move feel as never-ending to you as it does to me?!

*Sigh*

  1. If I’m trying to lose a couple of inches for a day I take an over the counter diuretic (fluid pills). I can instantly lose a few pounds to fit into a snug outfit. Not kidding, it really works. They sell them in the medicine section of most stores. The kind I have in my medicine cabinet I got at the grocery store.

  2. Hey there, just found your blog today and had a quick read through.

I love it. Its not boring or ugly at all.

Great work with your weightloss thus far :)

  3. I hear you…. I feel like I am on the same train towards a fat disaster. I am up 12 pounds from my all time low. its so hard to loose weight and I am throwing it all away. I guess your not looking for someone to commiserate with but for some motivation. Anyway you can do this, make tomorrow the best day you have had in months and start your new adventure and move on the right foot. Move it up to top priority, you can do it.

  4. I’m sorry that you’re frustrated. It’s hard when you’re in limbo, and you’re not able to have a routine. I’m struggling with that this week as well. I hope that you’ll have a better day tomorrow! :-)

  5. I think you should take a deep breatha and relax. Try some yoga or a 20 min workout. It always makes me feel better..even when I don’t want to really do it. Yoga helps

    Hope everything works out sweetie.

  6. I know you’re feeling badly right now, but don’t. You have come a long way! You have lost weight before and you will do it again. Although you can’t change the dress situation right now, you WILL! Go get yourself another dress that you like and feel comfortable in. You deserve it! Then, when you’re back in Cali, it’s game on, sister!!!

  7. I know I should tell you to seize the day and start doing better tomorrow, but moving is a tough case. It so stressful and the last thing you need is more stress. Do the best you can these couple weeks and hang in there. You’ll be in a new place with new habits soon. Just start out making healthy ones and you’ll be alright.

  8. okay lady – 1st things 1st. Take a deep a breath and breath.

You have a couple of days so hope is not lost. Watch your sodium intake & try to lay low on extra carbs (don’t deplete, just watch for un-needed carbs). Also, remember that fabric is built to loosen after a couple hours of wearing it so maybe try walking around the house with the dress on for a couple hours? And finally, please note that there are plenty of outfits I wear that I think i pour myself into yet other people think fit fine. As long as you can breath, maybe it’s okay?

And if not, any friends closets you can raid?

Love you & believe in you!

  9. I’m sorry you’re feeling so frustrated. It’s so hard to keep eating and exercising in check when our worlds get turned upside down. Hang in there and just try to limit the damage until you get settled and back into your routine. Enjoy your travels.

  10. Take a deep breath. Once you’ve simmered down find something small you can do to make yourself feel better. A walk. A short jog. Some squat jumps in the livingroom…

it doesn’t matter what it is, just do something so you feel like you are in control. Don’t let one little dress ruin how amazing you were feeling about yourself. The dress will go back to fitting normal again when you feel in control again.

Deep breaths. Worrying won’t help. Freaking out won’t help. Beating yourself up won’t help. And ice cream definitely won’t help (although it tastes so good!) :)

Pick yourself up lady! You can do it!!

  11. so sorry… that must have sucked… just breathe, get through the next two weeks and get back to work!

  12. I’m sorry you are struggling. Try to find some kind of routine in your life to help keep you grounded while going through this transition – it will really help you a lot!

  13. GOOD LORD I HAVE BEEN THERE
the feeling of “Im never going to refind a routine and get back to healthy living” but you will.
and, for me, it was exactly as lori says: I NEEDED TO CARVE OUT SOME SEMBLANCE OF A TINY ROUTINE IN MY CHAOS and then I felt better.

even just small things (lunging around a room. jumprope. pushups) to make you feel as though youre staying on track as much as you can.
