First Post! How Exciting!

This will be a blog that documents how I will use fitness and food to release me from my fat year! I call it my fat year because I haven’t always been fat! As I was growing up I was a little chubby but in high school I was pretty athletic and was actually skinny all the way through to university. Of course when I went to college I began eating irregularly and drinking regularly so I began to gain weight. After college I moved from Ireland to California and got married, where I continued for the next two years to gain even more weight. For the past year my husband and I have been living back in my hometown in Ireland where I have…yup, you guessed it, continued to gain even more weight!

Now I am aware that it is 11 days to Christmas and only a crazy person would begin their weight loss blog before the Christmas festivities! I am not a crazy person, therefore my official change in lifestyle will not be happening until January 2nd. I thought it would be a great idea however to commit now when I am feeling excited and motivated about the months that lie ahead. This way I can record how I will be preparing, give an official ‘before’ posting (pictures included!) and share my thoughts on how exactly I plan to do all this! Hopefully I can rally up some support from people who want to take the challenge themselves!

  1. Hey Rebecca! Congrats on your commitment. I love the bloggy world, it is total inspiration. Even though I am running, I still need to lose the pounds! Ultimately I have about 20 to 30 pounds I should shed. Yesterday, I decided I am going to count calories. Together we can hold each other accountable!
